My Lord and My God
Honor St. Thomas the Apostle with this beautiful, elegant print. The text of John 20:28 is illuminated in a mix of Gothic and Uncial styles, complemented by a set of images focusing on the great Saint.
Within the initial 'M' is my take on a classic iconographic scene - the touching of Thomas. St. Thomas is often called "Doubting Thomas", because his most well-known act was to doubt the Resurrection. He needed not only to see His Lord risen from the dead, but also to touch His wounds. The icon shows this scene in a colorful illumination.
Also featured in the print are a spear, a reference to St. Thomas's martyrdom by spear; a carpenter's square, a traditional symbol for St. Thomas; and the Eucharist.
